Jake Neilson, Director, Operatons
Jake Neilson serves as Director, Operations for GovContractPros. Jake brings over ten years of experience in regulatory compliance and reporting, federal contractor registrations and certifications, and small business advocacy to GovContractPros. Jake specializes in monitoring legislative and regulatory changes to federal small business programs, including the 8(a), HUBZone, WOSB/EDWOSB, and SDVOSB/VOSB programs, and aiding clients in communicating with their congressional representatives on such topics. He also assists clients in applying for certification under these small business set-aside programs.
Jake’s background includes providing operational support in bid and size protests before the Government Accountability Office, the Court of Federal Claims, and the Small Business Administration’s Office of Hearings and Appeals. Jake also brings several years of Capitol Hill experience to the team, having served in both administrative and legislative roles for a Senator and a Senate Committee. Jake is well versed in the legislative process, and has a proclivity for effectively connecting people with their congressional representatives.
Prior to moving to the Washington, D.C. area, Jake graduated from the University of Northern Iowa with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology. From a very young age, he developed a deep respect for our system of representative government, and has great passion for ensuring that our government remains accountable to the people it represents.
